Preheat the broiler.
Combine in a food processor or blender until smooth, about 1 minute:
4 tablespoons butter, softened
1 scallion, chopped
1 1/2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon salt
Shuck and place on the half shell:
24 cherrystone clams
Spoon about 1 teaspoon of the butter mixture on top of each clam. Top with:
6 slices bacon, cooked until crisp and crumbled
Broil until the butter is bubbling, about 3 minutes.
